Brass ensemble, vocalists and piano trio to perform at chamber recital
Concordia will hold a chamber music recital on Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. in the Recital Hall in the Music Center. The recital will feature a brass ensemble, vocal groups and a piano trio that will play on one piano.
“Our music students have many opportunities to perform in large ensembles and many opportunities to perform solos. This recital gives them an opportunity to work in small groups,” said Assistant Professor of Music Elizabeth Grimpo.“It’s a good opportunity for them to study the music and to make artistic and technical decisions together as they prepare for the performance.”
The recital will feature three pianists on one piano playing the trio “Gavotta” by Cornelius Gurlitt. Other performances include a brass ensemble playing a Beethoven piece, a vocal jazz ensemble performing “Skylark,” a vocal duet performing a piece from the musical “Little Women” and a vocal quartet singing a song from the contemporary Christian band Phillips, Craig and Dean.
