The laundry business is part of Ashley Geidel’s ’17 family history. Her great-grandfather started a laundromat in Lincoln around 1960, and the family has remained involved in the laundry industry ever since.

Ashley and her husband David ’18 love Concordia Nebraska and love the Seward community. When they saw the need for a modern, clean, full service laundromat in Seward, they set out to make that dream a reality.

The duo opened Seward’s Laundry Land - located at 2555 Progressive Road - in May 2026. Laundry Land offers commercial-grade, self-service machines, same-day drop-off washing and folding services as well as workspaces, Wi-Fi, snacks and more. The facility is attended, and employees guide guests through self-service options and process drop-off laundry orders.

“We were fortunate to receive guidance and business planning support from family members with decades of experience,” explained David. “Their insight helped us avoid common mistakes and better understand what customers value in a laundromat.”

“We are excited to contribute to the community by offering a service that is convenient, clean and built to serve local residents, students, families and businesses for years to come.”

Ashley has a degree in education from Concordia Nebraska. David has a bachelor of science degree in business administration with concentration in finance. David’s brother Matthew ’15 also attended the university. The day after graduation, David started work with the Department of Insurance as a financial analyst then worked for Mission of Christ Network where he had interned while a student at the university. He is currently employed as MCN’s controller.

David and Ashley were married in 2018 and chose to remain in Seward because they love the community and knew it would be a good place to raise a family. They have four children: Hazely (6), Ruby (5), Jude (3) and Eden (1).

“My education at Concordia played an important role in making this project possible,” said David. “The business knowledge and practical skills I gained there are numerous, and we are grateful for the foundation Concordia provided. We are excited to contribute to the community by offering a service that is convenient, clean and built to serve local residents, students, families and businesses for years to come.”
