In late February of 1971, Tom Raabe accomplished something no other Concordia basketball player ever had: reach 2,000 career points. Raabe left a lasting legacy while starting all 101 games over his four-year career.
A 22-point hole doomed Concordia as it attempted to earn a regular season sweep of Jamestown. The Bulldogs got all the way back within three before falling by an 89-79 score in North Dakota on Wednesday (Jan. 3).
GPAC play resumes in the year 2024 as the Bulldogs look ahead to matchups with Jamestown and Dakota Wesleyan. Concordia owns a four-game GPAC win streak and sits at 9-3 overall this season.
Double-doubles from both Noah Schutte and Tristan Smith and a 25-9 surge to close the first half made the difference on Saturday (Dec. 30) as the Bulldogs (5-1 on the road) earned a 90-75 win at St. Ambrose.
In its final outing of the calendar year 2023, Concordia will be headed across the state of Iowa to take on St. Ambrose. The Bulldogs have been idle since splitting a pair of nailbiters at the Big Island Holiday Classic.
Game No. 2 for the Bulldogs at the Big Island Holiday Classic featured all the drama anyone could want. Concordia overcame its top player fouling out and outlasted No. 19 Olivet Nazarene in double overtime on Dec. 18.
In the first game of its stay at the Big Island Holiday Classic, Concordia saw its comeback fall short in a 74-73 loss to NCAA Division II San Francisco State. Noah Schutte and Tristan Smith combined for 44 points.
Concordia Men's Basketball is set to appear in Hawaii for the first time since 2019. While in Hilo, the Bulldogs will take on San Francisco State and Olivet Nazarene (Dec. 17-18) as part of the Big Island Holiday Classic.
Chalk this one up as another heartstopper in the Concordia-Briar Cliff series. Despite turning it over 25 times, the Bulldogs got it down in overtime, 86-82, with the help of 34 points and 11 rebounds from Noah Schutte.
