Accounts are changing for CUNE students

Beginning in June, new and active students had a second email address created for them. This was the beginning of tranistioning accounts that currently use a cune.org email address into a student.cune.edu email address.
 
From now until October 22 we are in a transition period.

  • Students are able to begin using their new student.cune.edu email address 
  • Messages will still be sent to the old cune.org email address
  • Messages from the old account are being forwarded to the new account

 Beginning October 22, the new email will take over.

  • The new student.cune.edu email will become the official email address for all active students. 
  • The old account will remain available for students as long as they need, and can be treated as a personal, unofficial email address.

New accounts created during this period should begin using their new student.cune.edu email address and avoid their cune.org email. We understand this can be confusing and welcome questions to the Helpdesk.

If you completed your application before September 17, 2024:

It is likely that you received multiple communications about both a cune.org email address and a student.cune.edu email address. It is encouraged that you focus on using your student.cune.edu email address and follow the steps below to set up that password. 

If you completed your application AFTER September 17, 2024: 

You should have received an email from helpdesk@cune.edu once you are a confirmed student. This email will contain your username and instructions for logging in to the portal and your student.cune.edu email account.

Create your password

  1. Visit the Microsoft password reset page at aka.ms/sspr
  2. Enter your new email address first.last@student.cune.edu
  3. Choose I forgot my password
  4. Follow the steps to set your new password

Password Requirements

  • Minimum length: 14 characters
  • Include: number, special character, capital letter
  • Avoid: your name, Concordia, CUNE, bulldogs, dawgs, etc.

Logging in to the Portal and other resources

Once you set your new Microsoft password, it will sync to all CUNE systems including the Portal, Blackboard, Email (M365), etc. You will continue to have the same password for all of these tools, though the username could be either in the format firstname.lastname or the full email address.

Fixing Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)

Your new student.cune.edu Microsoft account will require authentication using a second factor, such as an app on your phone or a text message. Sometimes these things change. 

If you have no working methods, please call or stop by the Helpdesk. Be prepared to answer questions or present your ID to verify your identity.
