As a student in the pre-osteopathic medicine major at Concordia Nebraska, you’ ll have the opportunity to take specialized courses related to various aspects of the pre-osteopathic medicine profession. These classes, designed to equip you for leadership and service in various pre-osteopathic medicine careers, are taught by some of our esteemed faculty who have extensive experience in their fields.
BIO 111
General Biology I 4 credits
Lecture 3, Lab. 2. The first course of a two-semester study of general biology for science majors and pre-health professional students. This course introduces students to the nature of science, cell and molecular biology, and genetics. Topics covered include cell structure and function, energy metabolism, cell division, classical genetics, DNA structure and function, gene expression, and gene regulation.

General Chemistry I 4 credits
Lecture 3, Lab. 3. The first course of a two-semester study of general chemistry for science majors and pre-health professional students. Atoms and molecules, chemical reactions and reaction stoichiometry, phases of matter, electronic structure, bonding, molecular shapes, and intermolecular forces.

Organic Chemistry I 4 credits
Lecture 3, Lab. 3. The compounds of the aliphatic and aromatic series, stressing general principles. The basic understandings in this area, an appreciation of the relation of organic chemistry to daily life.
PHYS 111
General Physics I 4 credits
Lecture 3, Lab. 2. Experiments, lectures and discussions to reveal the sensibleness of nature via mechanics of particles and waves as models, relativity and conservation laws, momentum and energy, and the nature of scientific inquiry.
