BIO 111
General Biology I 4 credits
Lecture 3, Lab. 2. The first course of a two-semester study of general biology for science majors and pre-health professional students. This course introduces students to the nature of science, cell and molecular biology, and genetics. Topics covered include cell structure and function, energy metabolism, cell division, classical genetics, DNA structure and function, gene expression, and gene regulation.
CHEM 116
General Chemistry II 3 credits
Lecture 3, Lab. 3. A continuation of general chemistry: chemical kinetics, equilibrium, acids and bases, oxidation-reduction chemistry, and fundamental qualitative analysis.
MATH 184
Calculus I 4 credits
A beginning course in the analysis of functions including analytic geometry. A study of limits, techniques and applications of differentiation, transcendental functions, and basic integration.
BIO 399
Research in Biology 3 credits
Upper-level students will perform biological research under supervision of biology faculty and with assistance of students who are registered for BIO 299. Bio 299 and Bio 399 students will meet as one class but will have different course requirements. Writing Intensive course.
