Your college may be closing, but the hard work you’ve already put in toward earning your degree can still count. Concordia University, Nebraska is dedicated to helping you get the most out of the education you've already finished so you can earn your degree as quickly as possible.

As a student in good standing at your previous college, we'll work with you to transfer as many credits as possible to help you graduate in a timely manner.
After you apply to Concordia Nebraska, please contact your college and ask them to send us your transcript so we can evaluate which coursework you’ll need to finish out your program.

Transfer Guidelines
The Department of Theology, Philosophy and Biblical Languages will determine the Theology and Biblical Literacy General Education courses required from each particular closing institution.
Concordia will strive to make reasonable accommodations to the academic residency requirements to facilitate timely graduation of transfer students.
For undergraduate liberal arts students with only one semester remaining:
Concordia will make every reasonable accommodation to help you graduate in one semester.
You will need to complete:
- The remaining requirements in your major as outlined by the department chair.
- Those general education requirements deemed necessary and possible (in one semester) by the department chair.
- 120 hours of college coursework (total in career).
For students with 60 or more hours of college credit (no associate’s degree):
Concordia will make every reasonable accommodation to help you graduate according to your planned graduation timeline.
You will need to complete:
- The remaining requirements of your major as outlined by the department chair.
- The Theology and Biblical Literacy General Education requirements identified as essential by the Department of Theology, Philosophy and Biblical Languages.
- The remaining general education requirements as outlined by the department chair.
- 120 hours of college coursework (total in career).
For students with less than 60 hours of college credit:
Concordia will:
- Work to ensure that as many of your college credits transfer as possible.
- Provide you with a clear understanding of what requirements you have remaining in your major and general education.
You will need to complete:
- Your remaining major requirements.
- Your remaining general education requirements.
- 120 hours of college coursework (total in career).
For teacher education students with only their professional semester remaining:
The Concordia University Department of Education will determine how your professional semester and teaching experiences will be supervised.
You will need to complete:
- Student teaching
- Any remaining endorsement area requirements
