High school students explored their creative sides at Concordia’s Experience Art Day on Friday, Oct. 7, and Saturday, Oct. 8. Participants took an inside look at Concordia’s art department and spent some time at the First Friday arts celebration in Lincoln.

On Friday students and parents participated in a meet and greet with a panel of current Concordia art majors to learn more about the art programs the university has to offer. They then traveled to Lincoln to get a glimpse of art in several different galleries.

On Saturday students immersed themselves in art lessons from Concordia professors. “We tried to offer different experiences ranging from two-dimensional studio work to computer-generated work in our lab,” said Don Robson, art department chair. “Professors engaged the prospective students in critiques to discuss the experience and the work they created.”
