In the final week of action prior to the 2023 GPAC outdoor championships, Concordia Track & Field will be represented at the Drake Relays and the Prairie Wolf Invitational. The Bulldogs have totaled nine automatic national marks in 2023.
After posting automatic national qualifying times in the 400 meters and as part of the 4x400 meter relay, Jenna Esch has been named the GPAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week. Concordia has pulled in 11 weekly awards in 2022-23.
Mild conditions that featured light winds were a welcome change of pace on Sunday (April 23) as Jenna Esch shined and the nationally ranked Concordia Track & Field squads won six events at the Dutcher Memorial.
Week five of the outdoor season will feature the Jim Dutcher Memorial hosted by Doane. The meet schedule has been reshuffled to accommodate the weather. The majority of the meet will be held on Sunday.
Concordia's 5,000-meter racewalk school record holder reeled in honors from the GPAC on Wednesday (April 19). Lauren Dawson was named the GPAC Track Athlete of the Week after posting an NAIA 'B' standard at the Concordia Invite.
While frigid temperatures and strong winds resulted in a condensed meet, racewalker Lauren Dawson and a group of field athletes made the most of the Concordia Invite. Bulldogs combined for six event titles while Dawson broke her own school record.
The 2023 Concordia Outdoor Invitational will run Friday and Saturday (April 14-15) inside Bulldog Stadium. Head Coach Matt Beisel's program will host athletes from a total of 12 institutions, including eight from the NAIA level.
For their performances at the Central College Invite, Adrianna Rodencal and Zach Zohner have been honored as GPAC Athletes of the Week. Both Bulldogs lead in the GPAC in an event while ranking in the top 10 nationally.
Another school hurdles record for Adrianna Rodencal stood out as the highlight of Good Friday (April 7) at the Central Invite for Concordia Track & Field. Rodencal was one of five Bulldogs to emerge as event champions in Pella, Iowa.
Concordia Track & Field cracked the top 15 of the NAIA Outdoor National Rating Index released by the USTFCCCA on Wednesday (April 5). The nationally ranked Bulldogs are prepping for Friday's Central Invite in Pella, Iowa.
