Stellar pitching from Braxton Greenburg and some clutch hits in the latter innings helped the 19th-ranked Bulldogs pull away from Midland for an 8-3 GPAC tournament win on Friday (May 3). Matt Rhoades and Joey Grabanski both homered.
It was a wild first day of GPAC tournament action at Plum Creek Park as the Bulldogs rallied from a 9-1 deficit and won in 11 innings. Joey Grabanski ended the contest with a walk-off RBI single off the wall in left.

From April 21 through April 28, Concordia Baseball embarked upon a decidedly unique eight-day stretch. By the end of it, the Bulldogs celebrated a championship in style - at a small-town gas station on the way back from Salina, Kansas.
For the sixth time since 2017, the Concordia Baseball program will serve as a GPAC tournament pod host. The top-seeded Bulldogs will welcome to town Briar Cliff, Midland and Mount Marty.
The GPAC regular season championship is coming back to Seward. The Bulldogs pulled even with Doane for first place in the final conference standings on Sunday (April 28) while pummeling Mount Marty by scores of 12-3 and 14-4.
All parties involved knew it would be a race to beat incoming storms on senior day Saturday (April 27) at Plum Creek Park. The pitchers were the story as the Bulldogs defeated Dakota Wesleyan by scores of 3-1 and 2-1.
Due to the forecasted rain and thunderstorms in Seward, the Concordia Athletics Department is exploring potential alternative locations and dates for baseball doubleheaders versus Mount Marty and Dakota Wesleyan.
Upon returning from the trip to Jamestown, the Bulldogs get a breather before honing in on this weekend's four-game homestand. The program will celebrate 12 seniors while closing the regular season on Saturday.
Joey Grabanski has earned his second-straight GPAC Player of the Week award after going 7-for-8 with three home runs and 12 RBIs in the doubleheader sweep of Hastings. He has pushed his career home run total to 82.
After taking two at home from Hastings on Sunday, the 15th-ranked Bulldogs quickly turned around and headed north. Concordia arrived in North Dakota, where it swept a doubleheader behind stellar pitching performances.
