For the third year in a row, and for the fifth time since 2017, Concordia Baseball will host one of two four-team pods for the GPAC tournament. At this year's event, the Bulldogs will welcome Morningside, Midland and Northwestern to Seward.
A four-game split with Morningside was enough to ensure the Bulldogs will host a four-team pod for the GPAC tournament. Red hot Ben Berg and company defeated Morningside, 11-4, in game three before dropping game four, 7-5.
In a doubleheader that finished just before midnight in Seward, the 24th-ranked Bulldogs split a doubleheader with Morningside. Concordia took the first contest behind a strong outing from Caden Johnson.
A record-breaking performance from Jaidan Quinn resulted in him being named the GPAC Player of the Week. Quinn received that distinction after setting a school record with four home runs in a single game over the weekend.
On the line this weekend will be the program's 17-game home win streak and a chance at a 2023 GPAC regular season title. After a four-game sweep of Midland, the Bulldogs will host Morningside for four games this Friday-Saturday.
This wasn't the end of the home slate, but the Bulldogs gave the seniors results that were fitting for the occasion. Jaidan Quinn continued his tear and Concordia earned a four-game sweep of Midland.
Jaidan Quinn homered in four consecutive at bats on a historic day that saw Concordia leave the yard 12 times. The power display, coupled with two strong pitching performances, led the Bulldogs to two blowout wins over Midland.
A group of seniors that have been part of the greatest seasons in program history will be honored this Sunday as part of a four-game series with Midland. The Bulldogs are currently situated in a three-way tie for first place.
The race for the GPAC regular season title is heating up – and tightening up. In a key conference doubleheader, Concordia fell twice at Doane, 6-4 and 9-2, on Monday (April 17). Caden Johnson took a no-hitter into the sixth inning of game one.
Consistent wind gusts only strengthened the powerful Concordia offense, which found the jet stream to right and homered 10 times in a doubleheader sweep of Briar Cliff. The Bulldogs (29-11, 15-3 GPAC) have won nine in a row.
