Welcome from the President

Thank you for taking time to learn about Concordia University, Nebraska. We look forward to getting to know you and how we might help you meet your educational and career goals. As you learn more about us, we want you to know a few things about us!
  • We are a Lutheran, Christian university
  • Our core commitments to every student are
    • Community: the opportunity for you to learn from and with faculty and other students in a rigorous academic setting where relationships matter.
    • Calling: the opportunity to grow in your understanding of God's call to you in faith and career.
    • Christ: the opportunity to know more fully Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world and the one who loves you most of all.
  • Our students number nearly 1700 undergraduate and graduates from more than 40 states and several foreign countries.
  • Nearly 90 percent of our health professions and pre-law graduates are accepted by medical and law colleges.
  • We are the leader in placing graduates in the professional ministries of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
  • Concordia is the No. 1 Nebraska school in the Midwest region of best baccalaureate colleges in the most recent U.S. News & World Report survey, America's Best Colleges.
  • 2008-09 was the sixth consecutive year we led the Great Plains Athletic Conference in the number of NAIA scholar athletes. During the 2008-09 academic year Concordia led the 287 colleges and universities in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athlectics (NAIA) in the number of scholar athletes (3.5 gpa or higher)
  • In October 2009 we dedicated the Health, Human Performance and Athletic Center. The facility is now open for use to the entire campus community and houses our Health, Human Performance program and is the focal point of our intercollegiate and intramural athletic programs. • Last year we awarded more than $10 million in scholarship aid to our students.
