The Concordia University, Nebraska men's golf team shot a two round total of 666 to place seventh at the Evangel University Spring Invitational in Springfield, Mo., on March 23-24.
The tournament, the first of the spring season for the Buldogs featured 12 schools, and was played at Rivercut Golf Course.
Originally the tournament was to have a much bigger field, but a number of teams did not make the trip due to the rain that was forecasted for the area.
Concordia opened with a round of 343 before posting the third best round on Saturday, a 323.
McKendree College took the team title with a 638. The only other GPAC school participating, Hastings, tied for third (643). The Bulldogs did beat Missouri Valley (668), Culver Stockton and Evangel (each at a 681), Fontbone University (698), and Hannibal-LaGrange College (703).
Junior Mike Kulzer (79-80) paced the Bulldog attack, cracking the top 20, finishing in a tie for 12th place.
The next highest finish for a Concordia golfer came from the freshmen duo of Adam Kusmierczak and John Zilm who finished in a five-way tie for 25th. Kusmierczak (90-77) and Zielm (84-83) each shot a 167.
Concordia is at the SCC Invite in Beatrice, Neb., on March 29 and 30 and the NCTA meet in Curtis, Neb., on Saturday, March 31.
