Getting news on the site

Suggestions for news stories and photo opportunities are welcome. News suggestions for the Web are most helpful when they are made at least a week in advance for events that need simple post-event coverage.

How are home page stories chosen?

News stories and features on the home page are selected because they help represent the university community and all that encompasses an education at Concordia.

Variety, newsworthiness, and visual interest are all important factors for news on the home page and elsewhere on the site. Stories that can combine a compelling story and photojournalistic photography typically are given priority. Not all suggested stories or photo-ops can be covered.

Events highlighted as calendar items on the home page will likewise be  Concordia-related and have a broad impact and audience. Announcements for events hosted at Concordia would typically fall into this category.

Who to contact regarding Web news

E-mail Dan Oetting, lead editor for marketing and communication, at dan.oetting@cune.edu for consideration of a story on the site.
