The Concordia University baseball team was picked to finish 11th in the 2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.
Nebraska Wesleyan, who won the GPAC regular season title in 2009, is the coaches’ choice to win the 2010 league title with 130 points and six first place votes. Dakota Wesleyan, who won last year’s GPAC postseason title, is second with 112 points and three first place votes. Briar Cliff is third with 111 points, and Morningside is fourth with three first place votes and 109 points.
Mount Marty is fifth with 103 points, while Doane and Sioux Falls are tied for sixth with 83 points. Hastings College is eighth with 82 points followed by Midland Lutheran (73) and Northwestern College (55) to close out the top 10. Concordia is 11th with 37 points, while Dana College (20) and Dordt College (16) round out the preseason poll.
Concordia finished the 2009 season with an overall record of 14-32 to go along with an 8-16 mark in GPAC play. The Bulldogs open the season Feb. 5 against Northwestern College at the Metrodome Classic.
