The tenth annual Cattle Classic Basketball Tournament will be held from Nov. 12-14 at Concordia. The event raises food and money each year for the Blue Valley Community Action's food pantry. Pac N Save of Seward will also match all canned food donations.
Basketball clinics will again be held for third, fourth and fifth graders. The Concordia basketball squads will host the clinics during the weekends leading up to the Cattle Classic Tournament. The clinics and the tournament games will take place in the newly dedicated Health, Human Performance and Athletic Center at Concordia.
The girls' clinic will take place on Nov. 1 and the boys’ clinic scheduled for Nov. 8. York College will match up against Concordia in the women’s tournament on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. The Concordia men take on York College on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. and face Hannibal-La Grange (Hannibal, Mo.) on Nov. 14 at 1 p.m.
“This is really a fun event,” said Drew Olson, head women’s basketball coach at Concordia. “It’s great for our teams to influence young kids that have a love for basketball. Overall, it is also a fantastic fundraising/food donation event for Cattle National Bank, Pac N Save and the Blue Valley Food Group. We are very happy to be a part of what they do.”
