Dana College fiercely defended its home court Saturday afternoon, earning an 89-65 victory over the Bulldogs on the last day of the GPAC regular season.
The Vikings came out of the chute on an offensive tear, starting the game with a 9-0 run that turned into a 49-28 halftime lead for Dana. The Bulldogs were never able to mount any serious comeback effort as the two teams played even basketball throughout the second half.
Concordia was led offensively by Tyler Bredehoeft's 22 points and Andy Banahan also chipped in with 12 points off the bench. Dana was led offensively by Jon Person with 19 points.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to sixth place in the GPAC. Concordia will host the Mt. Marty Lancers, the No. 11- seed, on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 7:30 p.m. The winner of Tuesday's game will then travel to Sioux City, Iowa, to play the No. 3-seeded Briar Cliff Chargers on Thursday, Feb. 26.
