Article Body
The Concordia University men's basketball team failed to score for almost four minutes in the latter part of the second half Saturday en route to a 78-68 defeat at the hands of the Mount Marty College Lancers.

Concordia jumped out to an 11-point lead in the first half before taking a 40-32 advantage into the intermission. The eight-point lead quickly disappeared just in the first five minutes of the second half as Mount Marty came back to tie game, 44-44. The two teams traded buckets for the next minutes with neither side able to gain a foothold until the Bulldogs went ice cold offensively with about seven minutes remaining. Concordia wouldn't score again until Tyler Byrd's 3-pointer with just 33 seconds remaining in the game. In that time the Lancers surged to a 14-point lead, 76-62. Byrd would hit another three-pointer to cut the lead to single digits, 77-68 before the Lancers would add a free throws to push the lead back to ten.

The Bulldogs were led by Dustin Weber with 14 points and Dusan Veselinovic with 10. Mount Marty was led by the trio of Rudy Harper (22), Weston Kusser (20), and Justin Peters (19).

With the loss the Bulldogs drop to 13-5 overall and 7-2 in the GPAC while Mount Marty moves to 4-16 overall and 1-7 in the GPAC.

Next action for the Bulldogs comes Tuesday, Jan. 20, with the Dana College Vikings coming to the Doghouse at 7:30 p.m.
