The Concordia University, Nebraska cross country teams kicked off their 2008 season at the Woody Greeno Invitational held at Pioneers Park in Lincoln, Neb. Four "university division" teams took part in the race, including meet co-host University of Nebraska-Lincoln, along with 21 teams designated as college division. 

The Bulldogs, ranked 7th nationally in the NAIA, turned in a strong team race, finishing third in the college division and fourth overall. Luka Thor led the way for the Bulldogs. His time of 25:27.90 put him in seventh place overall and was faster than all NCAA Division I competitors in the race. Zach Meineke was the next finisher for the Bulldogs at 25:55.60, good enough for 12th place overall. The other notable finisher for Concordia was David Goeglein in 14th place.

The Bulldog women, who came into the race ranked 13th nationally in the NAIA, finished sixth in the college division of the race. The top individual finisher for the Bulldogs was Alicia Marteney with a time of 23:51.90, good enough for 39th place overall.

The next meet for the Bulldogs is Saturday, Sept. 27, in St. Paul, Minn., at the Griak Invitational.
