The Concordia University women's basketball team begins play in the NAIA National Tournament at noon on Wednesday, March 12, against Union College of Barbourville, Ky. Concordia has been given a three-seed in its quarter of the bracket and Union College is the six-seed.
Concordia is making its eighth appearance in the tournament and its seventh appearance in the last ten years. Concordia's last national tournament bid came in 2005 when the Bulldogs went on to the final four before losing 86-73 to Cedarville.
All games for the tournament are hosted at the Tyson Events Center/Gateway Arena in Sioux City, Iowa. The first 30 games of the championships will be video-streamed live on the Internet via pay-per-view, while the National Championship Game will air live nationwide on College Sports Television (CSTV). The Bulldogs will also be heard via the Concordia Sports Network with Wade Tracy bringing all the live action from Sioux City, Iowa.
If the Bulldogs were to advance, they would either take on the Southwestern College (Kan.) Moundbuilders or the Davenport University (Mich.) Panthers at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Inlcuding Concordia, four teams from the GPAC are in the tournament.
