The Concordia University, Nebraska women's basketball team has four players on the 2007-08 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) All-Conference Team. The list, released last week, consists of 10 first-team members, 10 second-team members and an honorable mention list.
Juniors Whitney Stichka (Ruskin, Neb.) and Melissa Tinkham (Kearney, Neb.) were named to the first-team while seniors Jenni Lovegrove (Fairmont, Neb.) and Libby Hirssig (Rochester, Minn.) each earned honorable mention status.
Tinkham was among the top 10 in the GPAC in four different statistical categories. She was seven in scoring, averaging 16.1 point per game, ninth in free throw percentage (75.6 percent), eight in steals with 71, and third in three-point field goals made with 86
Stichka was the leading scorer for Concordia at 17.2 points per game placing her sixth in scoring in the conference. The 5-9 guard was one of the leading three-point shooters in the conference, hitting on 36.5 percent.
Lovegrove was among the top rebounders in the conference. She was 11th in rebounding, averaging 6.6 rebounds per game. Hirssig also established herself as a force on the glass averaging 6.3 rebounds per game, good enough for 13th in the conference.
