Concordia University indoor track team looked to continue the momentum at the John Dalton Classic hosted by the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D.

The Bulldog throwers continued their dominance over the competition as personal best's and school records were the norm over the weekend. Senior Katie Werner set a new school record for the indoor shot put with a throw of 46'2.5" besting the old record by almost five inches. Senior Christina Lark came within one inch of setting a new school record in the weight throw, hitting 53'6.5" to take third place in the meet. The Concordia men's throwers took three of the top six places in the shot put as Jordan Hinirichs took third with a throw of 54' putting him second on the all time list, while Matt Baller and Brock Simonsen each has season bests with throws of 51'4.25" and 51'2.75" respectively. The throws were good enough for fifth and sixth places for the two. Simonsen also qualified for the national meet in the weight throw over the weekend. The Bulldogs also saw Dusty Morehead qualify for the national meet in the pole vault with a mark of 15'6".

The Concordia runners had a solid outing all over, most notably Zach Meineke taking first in the one mile with a time of 4:25.22. Michael Saalfeld continues to impress, taking second place in the 400 with a time of 50.57. The other notable finish for the Bulldogs was Emily Hansen who qualified for the national meet in the 3000 meter race walk with a time of 17:44.27

The indoor track season continues this weekend as the Bulldogs head to the 2008 GPAC Indoor track and field championships at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Neb.
