The Concordia University men's basketball team's end of season drought continued with an 84-72 defeat at the hands of the Dordt College Defenders at the Dewitt Gymnasium in Sioux Center, Iowa. The Bulldogs' (10-18, 4-13 GPAC) have now dropped five of their last six and eight of their last ten. Dordt (18-8, 12-4 GPAC) is on the opposite track, winning five of their last six.
Concordia led early at 5-4 but Dordt would then go on 9-0 run and never look back, the closest the Bulldogs would get the rest of the game would be 12 points.
Senior guard Benjamin Buhr led the Bulldog offense with 21 points, helped by 4-of-9 shooting from three-point territory. Scott Hannon contributed with 17 points, while freshman wing Ryan Shrum added 15 points off the bench for Concordia.
The Defenders were led by Logan Kingma with 28 points, and Brian Eekhoff added 17 points for Dordt.
The Bulldogs will take the week and recover before welcoming the Dana College Vikings for a 2 p.m. GPAC match up on Saturday, February 23. This will be the final regular season home game for the Bulldogs as well as senior day.
