The 9th-ranked Concordia University women's basketball team picked up an 85-73 victory over the Midland Lutheran College Warriors on Wednesday evening in GPAC action at the MLC Event Center in Fremont, Neb.
The Bulldogs (22-3, 11-3 GPAC) looked rejuvenated after a disappointing home loss last weekend against No. 3 Morningside. Midland (7-18, 2-13 GPAC) continues to struggle, dropping their 13th consecutive game.
Junior guard Whitney Stichka played as near a perfect game as possible, scoring 34 points on 11-of-12 shooting from the field. Stichka was a perfect 6-for-6 from three-point land and 6-of-7 from the free throw line to lead the Bulldogs to the victory. Sophomore Stacy Sheer contributed 10 points off the bench for the Bulldogs.
Midland was led offensively by Jenna Hold with 14 points. Karmen Jericevic added 13 points and Kristin Bumsted also went for double digits with 11 points for the Warriors.
The Bulldogs will host a game this weekend with national ramifications as the No. 2 Northwestern College Red Raiders will come to the Doghouse for a 2 p.m. GPAC match-up with the Bulldogs.
