The Concordia University, Nebraska indoor track teams kicked off its season at three different meets this past weekend. The team split up competing separately in the three meets. The runners competed in the Holiday Inn Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., the field event participants competed in the Doane College Field Events Meet in Crete, Neb., and finally the race walkers were in action at the Missouri Valley Race Walk.

The Concordia race walkers started the weekend with two new school records in the Missouri Valley Race Walk Emily Hansen set a record with a time of 18:48.00, beating the old mark by almost a full minute. Chris Tegtmeier continued his assault on the Concordia record books with a time of 12:52.00.

The Bulldogs had a strong showing Friday and Saturday at the Holiday Inn Invitational held at the Devany Center Track in Lincoln, Neb. Concordia's Mary Lou Andrews took 6th place in the women's 800 meter run with a time of 2:22.78. Katie Swanson also ran well for the Bulldogs, collecting 5th place in the women's 600 yard run with a time of 1:28.41. On the men's side Michael Saalfeld was also 6th in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.20 while Jordan Tucker took 3rd place in the men's 1000 meter run with a time of 2:32.57.

At the Doane College Field Events Meet on Saturday Christina Lark blew away the competition taking 1st place in the weight throw with a mark of 15.63 meters, besting second place by almost a full meter. Larks throw fell just two feet short of a new school record. Katie Werner collected another 1st place for the Bulldogs with her win in the shot put with a mark of 13.05 meters. Other notable marks for the Bulldogs included: Erin Eitzmen (2nd in the Pole Vault), Holly Halambeck (6th in the Triple Jump), and Jordan Hinrichs (3rd in the Shot Put). The indoor track season continues this weekend as the Bulldogs head off to two more separate meets, the Foster Classic in Kearney, Neb., and the Graphic Edge Meet in Vermillion, S.D.
