The 6th-ranked Concordia women's basketball team was held to 18 points in the half in a tough 66-49 loss to the 9th-ranked Hastings College Broncos on Wednesday night in GPAC action at the Lynn Farrell Arena in Hastings, Neb.

The Bulldogs looked to be cruising to a huge victory when with less than one minute remaining in the first half, Concordia held a 31-20 lead over the Broncos. Then momentum swung completely in the favor of Hastings as the Broncos drained two three pointers in the last :54 seconds of the first half to cut the deficit from 11 to five, at 31-26.

The second half started with both teams trading buckets and the lead changing hands six times before the Broncos went on a 12-2 run over the next four minutes to take a 51-41 lead with six minutes left in the game. After that the Bulldogs were just not able to close to gap, the closest Concordia would get is at 51-43, before dropping the game 66-49.

Junior guard Whitney Stichka led the Concordia offense with 18 points on 6-of-16 shooting, as no other Bulldog scored in double digits. Senior forward Jenni Lovegrove led the Bulldogs with 10 rebounds.

Next action comes on Saturday afternoon as the Bulldogs head north to Sioux Falls, S.D. to take on the Cougars of the University of Sioux Falls in a 2 p.m. matchup.
