Concordia's athletic department has announced the hiring of Wade Tracy as the new sports information director. Tracy takes over the post with the Bulldog athletic department immediately.
Tracy, who has served as an admissions counselor for Concordia since this summer, will take over for Lucas Mohrman who has taken a position with Mr. Basketball, Inc.
"Our sports information department has been functioning at a high level with Lucas at the helm," said Athletic Director Grant Schmidt. "We are sorry to see him go, but are confident that Wade will continue with the quality of work that we have come to expect."
An Omaha, Neb., native and graduate of Millard North High School, Tracy is no stranger to Bulldog athletics. In 2005 he completed an internship in the Concordia sports information office. He continued to assist the sports information department during his time as a student and while serving as an admissions counselor by broadcasting many Bulldog contests, helping with statistical gathering and serving as the "voice" of Bulldog Stadium during the football season.
Tracy is responsible for the publicity of all of Concordia's 18 intercollegiate sports. His primary duties include: gathering official statistics; producing literature about the teams; distributing news releases to hometown, regional and national media; maintaining the athletics portion of the Concordia web site; and coordination of all interview requests for players, coaches and staff. In addition Tracy will directly oversee the Concordia Sports Network which features both live audio and video of select Bulldog contests via the Internet.
Tracy received a bachelor's degree in sport management with a minor in coaching from Concordia.
