Concordia University Women's Soccer Coach Rob Giesbrecht announced that Molly Humlicek of Lincoln Lutheran High School will play soccer for the Bulldogs beginning next season. Humlicek will be one of three former Warriors on the team.

"Molly is a fantastic addition to our program and will be an integral part of the future success of the soccer program at Concordia," said Giesbrecht. "She possesses the athleticism and technical ability and ambition to become a dominant player in the GPAC. Her ability to be a physical presence will allow her to step in and contribute immediately."

A four-year letterwinner at Lincoln Lutheran, Humlicek was named all-state honorable mention twice during her career up to this point. A two-sport athlete for the Warriors she was also an all-state and all-conference player in basketball. She was also a SportQuest first-team All-American Athlete and All-American Scholarship finalist.

Playing mostly forward and midfield Humlicek was also active in club soccer helping lead the Capital Soccer Association Gold Intensity team to back-to-back state championships. Coach Giesbrecht anticipates Humlicek serving in the same capacity for the Bulldogs next season.

"Molly will likely see time as either as a central midfielder or as a striker," Giesbrecht added. "Molly possesses everything we look for in a player - quality character, academic excellence, outstanding athletic ability and a competitive desire to reach her goals."

Humlicek's resume in the classroom is equally as impressive as on the field of play. She has been on the honor roll each year and a member of the National Honor Society. She is a two-time academic all-state selection and has been tabbed academic all-conference each season.

Up to this point during her senior year she as been named the Lincoln Lutheran female nominee for the Wendy's High School Heisman award and the Nebraska Schools Activities Association Believers and Achievers award. Recently she was honored as the Runza/KLKN Channel 8 Student Athlete of the Month.
