The Concordia women's basketball team picked up a pair of blowout wins this past weekend, beating William Woods University 90-65 on Friday afternoon and defeating the host, Columbia College, 91-63 in the final Saturday afternoon. The games were part of the Cougars Versus Cancer Classic played in Columbia, Mo.
The Bulldogs rode the hot shooting of junior guard Melissa Tinkham throughout the weekend. Tinkham scored 24 and 19 points in the two tournament games and her performance earned her tournament MVP honors. Junior guard Whitney Stichka scored 11 and 15 points and was also named to the all-tournament team.
Concordia plays next on Saturday, Jan. 5, as the Chargers of Briar Cliff University make their way to the Doghouse for a 2 p.m. start.
