The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released its first poll of the 2007 basketball season on Wednesday. For the first time since the end of the 2004-05 season the Concordia women are ranked. The Bulldogs (9-1, 3-1 GPAC) are rated No. 12 in the nation. Concordia came into the season receiving votes in the national poll. The team competes in NAIA Division II. Once again the GPAC is well represented in the poll. The GPAC has four teams in the top 25 with two more teams receiving votes. Concordia at 12, Hastings at 11, Morningside at seven, and Northwestern with the number two spot. Northwestern received four first place votes. Mount Marty and Doane each received votes.
The Bulldogs were the biggest mover in this week's poll moving from receiving votes to No. 12 after a 76-70 victory over Hastings who fell from being preseason number three to No. 11. Morningside used a victory over Concordia to move up one slot in the poll to seventh. Northwestern jumped from preseason number five to number two.
