The Concordia University, Nebraska men's and women's cross country teams will each compete at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Cross Country National Championships this Saturday, Nov. 17. 2007 NAIA CC National Championships

The races will be held at Dr. Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wis. The men's race will start at 10:30 a.m., while the women's starts at 11:45 a.m.

According to Head Coach Dr. Kregg Einspahr despite having a pair of young teams, they are both ready to compete and the course could favor the Bulldogs.

"They (team members) are reasonably relaxed and confident and are running very well, the best the have all season," said Einspahr. "The course is a difficult one, featuring hills, trails, grass, and often times mud. This type of course favors our team as our home course is somewhat similar."

On the women's side the Bulldogs, ranked No. 11 in the final NAIA poll, earned an automatic qualifying bid by winning the NAIA Region III Championship meet.

This marks the 14th consecutive trip to the NAIA Cross Country National Championships. The Bulldogs will compete in a field of 29 teams (14 region champions and 15 at-large bids) and 67 individual qualifiers on the 5k course.

During that time span the Bulldogs have finished in the top 20 each year as a team. In addition the Bulldogs were runner-up four times, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004.

The Concordia men's squad, ranked No. 16 in the final NAIA poll, earned an at-large bid to the meet that features 28 teams (13 region champions and 15 at-large bids). Also running the 8k course will be 67 individual qualifiers.

The highest finish for the Concordia men came in 2002 as they took sixth place. In the past 11 years the men have had eight top 20 performances.
