The improvement continued for the Concordia University, Nebraska women's golf team as they took part in the Briar Cliff/Lila Frommelt Classic this past Friday and Saturday. The Bulldogs posted their best team score of the season at the event, finishing in seventh place.

The two-day, 10-team meet was played at Green Valley Golf Course, in Sioux City, Iowa, on September 20th and 21st. Sioux Falls won the tournament after firing a 671 (338-333). Morningside's Kristi Tighe won the tie-breaker over Sioux Falls Brittnay Hofer to claim medalist honors. Tighe shot a 158 (79-79), while Hofer shot a 158 (78-80).

For Concordia the Bulldogs shot a 787 (391-396) to take seventh place. The score is the best by a Concordia women's golf team in the past three years.

"I am amazed at the improvement the team has made in the last two meets," said Head Coach Carl Everts. "The 391 on Thursday was seven strokes better than the 398 last Saturday and the 36-hole total of 787 is also the best in 3 years."

Individually Corrie Johnson led the way for the Bulldogs firing a two-day total of 190 (95-95). That score was good enough for 27th. Currently she tied with Jenni Schulteis for the best scoring average after five rounds.

Other scores for the Bulldogs included Chelsea Karmann - 193 (95-98), Alyssa Hedlund - 197 (99-98) and Jennifer Schulties - 207 (102-105).

The Bulldogs are in action at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invite on Sept. 30-Oct. 1 in Lincoln, Neb.
