WS: Denk nets hat trick, Bulldogs win pair

The Concordia University, Nebraska women's soccer team picked up its first win of the season on Tuesday defeating York College, 4-0. The Bulldogs' winning ways continued on Friday with a 2-0 victory over Ottawa University.
Freshman Hannah Denk scored the first goal of the season for the Bulldogs in the 42nd minute against York. Denk finished the game with a hat trick, scoring two more goals.
Despite not putting the goal in the net herself, sophomore Carolyn Chrzan had a hand in each of the Bulldogs goals, assisting on all of Denks goal along with Bethia Barone's goal.
Barone capped the scoring against the Panthers of York with a goal with 21 minutes remaining. As a team Concordia out-shot York 24-1 for the game. Junior goalkeeper Sara Webb turned away the only shot the Panthers sent her way.
In Friday's match against Ottawa University freshman Sarah Hoffmann scored her first goal as a Bulldog 22 minutes into the contest off an assist from Hannah Denk. Barone continued to find the back of the net, scoring with nine minutes left in the game.
Webb garnered her second shutout of the week, finishing with three saves on the night. Again the Bulldogs out-shot their opponent (18-8).
The Bulldogs look to extend their winning streak to three games on Sept. 11 as they travel down the interstate to take on College of St. Mary at 5 p.m.
