Matt Beisel (Women's Coach of the Year) and Cody Williams (Men's Field Performance of the Meet) raked in special awards while a group of 49 Bulldogs were officially named All-GPAC honorees for the indoor season.
The pieces fell into place for a women's track and field squad that won its first GPAC indoor title since 2010. Meanwhile, the Bulldog men placed second. Concordia athletes combined for seven GPAC event titles.
It came down to the wire, but junior Jessica Deterding broke the school record in the pentathlon as part of the first day of the GPAC championships. Meanwhile, Cody Williams tops the heptathlon leaderboard.
The Concordia University track and field programs are getting set to host the GPAC indoor championship meet for the first time since 2015. Both Bulldog squads have hopes of making a run at titles.
The NAIA's second ranked men's and women's track and field squads hosted the annual Concordia Indoor Invite and came away with five event titles and 12 performances that met the 'A' standard.
Athletes from 14 teams are getting set to compete inside the Fieldhouse on Friday as part of the annual Concordia Indoor Invite. The Bulldogs will enter the meet with 22 automatic national qualifying marks.
Scattered among two area meets, Concordia continued a strong opening month of the 2019 indoor season. Morgan De Jong added her name to the qualifying field and a school record nearly fell in the women's 4x4.
