A team score of 327 helped Concordia Women's Golf move up to third in the GPAC standings after round three of four. The championships will resume from Council Bluffs on Saturday.
Led by Kendra Placke and Mia Martin, the Bulldogs hope to rise as high as second in the final GPAC standings. The spring portion of the GPAC championships will unfold Friday and Saturday.
After helping Concordia Women's Golf to a school record for a single round, Kendra Placke has been named the GPAC Golfer of the Week (fourth time in her career).
Concordia Women's Golf again flirted with the school record while placing fifth in a field loaded with NCAA D-II competitors at the Wayne State Wildcat Classic on April 11-12.
A school record round on Wednesday (April 7) pushed the Bulldogs up to fifth in the final team standings in their own invite. Kendra Placke shot a 75 on day two and placed third individually.
For her work at the Kansas Wesleyan Invite, Kendra Placke has been named the GPAC Golfer of the Week. Placke carded an 84 in tournament action and won her match play event.
In a large home tournament featuring 90 golfers from 15 institutions, the Bulldogs reside in ninth place after day one. Kendra Placke topped Concordia with a score of 78.
The Concordia Women's Golf program will host the Concordia Bulldog Invite on April 6-7 when a field of 15 teams (90 golfers) will compete at Highlands Golf Course.
In a unique two-day event, Concordia went head-to-head with Kansas Wesleyan in Salina, Kan. Mia Martin and Kendra Placke again led the way for the Bulldogs.
The addition of Mia Martin to the lineup will give star Kendra Placke competition at the top. Martin edged Placke by one stroke as the Texas Intercollegiate wrapped up on Tuesday (March 9).
