RESULTS: Golf Genius (GGID: MMUW26)
YANKTON, S.D. – Concordia University, Women’s Golf picked up where it left off last season. The Bulldogs started the 2026-27 season on Monday (Aug. 24) by shooting a team score of 335 in round one of the Mount Marty Invite. The total places the Bulldogs in second behind Morningside (330) with 18 holes to be contested on Tuesday. Individually, graduate student Maddie Lewis and sophomore Olivia James led the way by carding an 82 at Hillcrest Country Club in Yankton, S.D.
Head Coach Brett Muller has begun his 16th season leading the men’s and women’s golf programs. The women broke the school season scoring average record in 2025-26 at 335.9.
Lewis and James are currently tied for fifth at 10 over par. They stand seven strokes out of first place in a field that includes 74 individual golfers. Lewis recorded 10 pars and James posted eight pars and a birdie in Monday’s round. The Concordia ‘A’ team lineup also featured junior Savannah McFalls (85; T-13th), sophomore Amelia Ptacnik (86; T-18th) and junior Makenzie Hughes (90; T-30th). The top four competitors for the Bulldogs each played at this past spring’s GPAC Championships.
Muller traveled a total of 10 golfers to Yankton. The ‘B’ team includes sophomore Brielle Cook (92), freshmen Mia Ochsner (94), Lucy Nothwehr (96) and Emma Anderson (100) and senior Emma McCoy (132). Cook achieved a career low.
Nine total institutions are represented at the Mount Marty Invite. Following Morningside and Concordia, the current top five in the team standings is rounded out by Doane (338), Hastings (342) and Briar Cliff (345). The conditions on Monday were mild and comfortable.
The tournament will shift to Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton on Tuesday. The round is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m. CT. Live results can be followed via the Golf Genius app.
