YORK, Neb. – The floodgates have opened for Concordia University, Nebraska Women’s Golf. The Bulldogs have celebrated back-to-back tournament championships with their latest triumph coming at this week’s York Panthers Fall Invitational (Sept. 21-22) in York, Neb. Led by graduate student Maddie Lewis, Concordia shot 336-340–676 (+116) for the tournament and held off GPAC rival College of Saint Mary by a single stroke. The Bulldogs held down three of the top four placements on the final individual leaderboard.
Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad also took first place at last week’s Lila Frommelt Fall Classic. Prior to this fall, the program’s most recent tournament championship occurred in September 2020.
Graduate Assistant Coach Emery Custer accompanied the women’s team at the York Invite while Muller traveled with the men’s team to the Bent Tree Intercollegiate. Said Custer, “I am super proud of how the girls persevered today. The course is tough, but we did a great job managing it. This was a great confidence boost before we go to the Nebraska Intercollegiate in a couple of weeks. We are excited to see howe we compete against some bigger schools.”
Concordia entered Tuesday’s round situated one stroke behind College of Saint Mary. The Bulldogs made their push for first place behind Lewis and freshman Mia Ochsner, who both shot 83 (+13) in round two. While the Flames boasted the individual champion in Victoria Farkas (76-79–155), Bulldogs landed the next three finishes via runner-up Lewis (83-83–166) and third-place competitors in Ochsner (87-83–170) and junior Savannah McFalls (83-87–170).
On a challenging York Country Club course, Lewis carded a birdie on hole 13 while collecting six pars in Tuesday’s round. Meanwhile, Ochsner notched seven pars in what amounted to a career-low 83 in round two. Lewis, McFalls and Ochsner all received medals for their top five finishes. The entire lineup for Concordia’s ‘A’ team placed inside the top eight out of 32 total players. Sophomores Olivia James (85-87–172; T-6th) and Amelia Ptacnik (85-88–173; 8th) were next in line.
Eleven Bulldogs represented the program at the York Invite. The team’s second grouping was paced by the likes of freshman Lucy Nothwehr (90-91–181; T-11th) and junior Makenzie Hughes (92-92–184; 13th). The lineup also featured freshman Emma Anderson (87-107–194) and seniors Abigail Kollbaum (104-97–201) and Emma McCoy (103-110–213).
Concordia beat out a small field of teams at the York Invite, including College of Saint Mary (677), host York University (772) and Tabor College (Kan.) (887). The Bulldogs placed second at the 2025 York Invite.

One final event remains on the fall semester schedule. State bragging rights will be on the line when the Nebraska Intercollegiate takes place on Oct. 5-6. Centura Hills Golf Club in Cairo, Neb., will serve as the venue for the 2026 Nebraska Intercollegiate.
