Thirty-eight beachgoers have begun the journey to the 2019 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. Concordia will take 17 past All-Americans and 10 first-time national qualifiers to the event.
The Concordia track and field programs will take 38 athletes to the NAIA outdoor national championships next week (May 23-25) in Gulf Shores, Ala. The Bulldogs lead the field with 23 women's competitors.
For their work in leading the Concordia women's track and field program to a GPAC outdoor title, coaches Matt Beisel Ed McLaughlin were both honored on Thursday (May 16) by the USTFCCCA.

The Twilight Meet will mark the third home meet of the 2019 outdoor season for Concordia. It will also be the final meet prior to the NAIA national championships coming up May 23-25.
The Concordia women completed a sweep of 2019 GPAC indoor/outdoor titles on Saturday (May 4) in Yankton, S.D. On the men's side, Cody Williams earned Athlete of the Meet honors while leading the Bulldogs to a third-place finish.
Jacob Cornelio and Erin Mapson emerged as Bulldogs with GPAC titles on day one of the outdoor conference championships. The Concordia women will enter the second day sitting atop the GPAC.
After a GPAC title and a conference runner up claim during the indoor season, the Bulldogs enter the conference outdoor meet with high expectations. Concordia owns national rankings of third for women and 18th for men.
