Becoming a principal means demonstrating a wide variety of skills to satisfy endorsement requirements. As you progress through Concordia's M.Ed., you’ll expand your expertise in:
- Supervision of instruction, including special education
- School resource management
- School improvement processes, including curriculum design and evaluation

- Law and ethics for school leadership
Courses that prepare you for the principal’s office
You must complete a minimum of 36 credit hours to graduate with your M.Ed. and receive the principal endorsement at the grade level for which you are already a licensed teacher (PK–8 or 7–12).
To become a principal for a grade level for which you aren’t currently certified, you must complete nine additional credit hours in the Dual Certification PK–12 Program for a total of 45 credit hours.
Throughout the program, you’ll complete a total of 250 practicum hours to meet Principal Endorsement requirements.
