Prepped at Heartland Lutheran High School for freshman through junior years and Grand Island Lutheran High School for senior year … coached by Daniel Gibson, Ray Foreman and Bill Alberts … lettered all four years … served as a team captain for two years … also competed in cross country and basketball for four years … tabbed Academic All-State all four years in basketball and cross country and three times in cross country … class co-valedictorian … earned numerous academic and school awards: 4x NCPA Academic All State, ACT Award, Red Cross Blood Drive Honor Chord, 4x Presidential Award for Academic Success, Academic Honor Medal, Gold Tassel, CUW Honor Chord and NHS Stole.
