Loseke headlines efforts of six Bulldogs at home powerlifting meet

SEWARD, Neb. – The fifth season of Concordia University, Nebraska Powerlifting officially got underway on Saturday (Oct. 3) as the Bulldogs hosted the CUNE Collegiate Powerlifting Meet. A total of 39 athletes represented three institutions inside the Walz Fieldhouse, where Midland and York University joined Concordia. Among the six Bulldogs in action, freshman Jordyn Loseke accumulated the highest DOTS score.

Head Coach Freddie Myles was absent due to traveling for the Pan American Games. In his place, new top assistant coach Desmond Myles presided over his first meet since his hiring.

Concordia used Saturday’s meet to break in six freshmen: Ethan Boggs (Seward, Neb.), Riley Hybertson (Centerville, S.D.), Loseke (Platte Center, Neb.), Makenah Mazanec, Meighan Smith (Murdock, Neb.) and Elijah Stugelmeyer (Fredrick, S.D.). A summary of their results can be found below. Boggs, Hybertson and Mazanec won their respective weight classes while competing unopposed.

While competing at 65 kg, Loseke made lifts of 130 kg in squat, 65 kg in bench and 137.5 kg in deadlift for a total of 332.5 kg. Her DOTS score computed to a team best 356.58. Not far behind, in terms of DOTS score, were Mazanec (355.95) and Smith (346.25).

·        Ethan Boggs (67.5 kg) – 115 kg squat | 80 kg bench | 125 kg deadlift | 320 kg total.

·        Riley Hybertson (75 kg) – 132.5 kg squat | 70 kg bench | 137.5 kg deadlift | 340 kg total.

·        Jordyn Loseke (65 kg) – 130 kg squat | 65 kg bench | 137.5 kg deadlift | 332.5 kg total.

·        Makenah Mazanec (70 kg) – 135 kg squat | 70 kg bench | 145 kg deadlift | 350 kg total.

·        Meighan Smith (48 kg) – 97.5 kg squat | 70 kg bench | 100 kg deadlift | 267.5 kg total.

·        Elijah Stugelmeyer (90 kg) – 155 kg squat | 87.5 kg bench | 190 kg deadlift | 432.5 kg total.

A more complete Bulldog team will appear at the Central Collegiate Cup Series scheduled for Nov. 21-22 in Fremont, Neb. That event will serve as a qualifier for the USA Powerlifting Collegiate National Championships coming up in the spring of 2027.
