2026-27 Schedules: Powerlifting | Weightlifting
SEWARD, Neb. – Concordia University, Nebraska Lifting Sports has announced 2026-27 schedules for both powerlifting and weightlifting. The first official competition of the academic year will take place on Oct. 3 when the Bulldogs host the CUNE Collegiate Powerlifting Meet inside the Walz Fieldhouse. On the weightlifting side, Concordia will make its season debut at the Iowa-Nebraska State Weightlifting Championships on Oct. 24.
Head Coach Freddie Myles will preside over the fifth year in the history of the lifting sports programs. The Bulldogs achieved significant heights this past spring semester on the national stages. At the 2026 USA Powerlifting Collegiate National Championships held in Kenner, La., Concordia earned place finishes of fifth for women and sixth for men behind All-Americans Teya Bader, Taylor Hedke, Wyatt Hosick and Will Peterson. Meanwhile, the 2026 National University Weightlifting Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah, saw the Bulldogs turn in finishes of third for co-ed, fifth for men and eighth for women behind All-Americans Kaiden Mima (national champion), Evan Fukuhara, Hedke and Enzo Mancini.
Following the home meet in early October, Concordia Powerlifting will continue the 2026-27 season with the Central Collegiate Cup Series on Nov. 21-22. There will be plenty of time to then ramp up for the 2027 USA Powerlifting Collegiate National Championships in Sioux Falls, S.D., on April 8-11. The Bulldogs will also take part in the Warrior Collegiate Powerlifting Meet hosted by Midland on April 17.
The weightlifting schedule also features four events throughout 2026-27. First semester action will wrap up with the USA Weightlifting Virus Finals in Pleasanton, Calif., on Dec. 3-6. Competition will resume on Feb. 27 in Olathe, Kan., where Concordia will challenge MidAmerica Nazarene University in a dual. In 2027, the USA Weightlifting University National Championships will shift to Richmond, Va., and will unfold April 15-18.
