A full week of conference play will allow Concordia the opportunity to put behind last week's loss at Briar Cliff. The Bulldogs will host Midland on Wednesday before heading to Dordt on Saturday.
A rough shooting performance and 17 turnovers doomed the Bulldogs as they opened GPAC play at Briar Cliff on Saturday (Nov. 13). Noah Schutte posted 16 points and seven rebounds while serving as a bright spot.
In a game filled with offensive fireworks, Ryan Holt supplied the heroics with a game-winning 3-pointer to a complete a comeback from eight points down. The Bulldogs defeated Peru State, 91-90, to move to 5-0.
Concordia will put its unblemished record on the line this week in matchups with Peru State and Briar Cliff (GPAC opener). The Bulldogs are 4-0 with a win over No. 18 Benedictine.
In its first challenge from a ranked opponent, Concordia controlled play in a 68-53 win over No. 18 Benedictine on Saturday (Nov. 6). Justin Wiersema led the way with 18 points and 12 rebounds as the Bulldogs moved to 4-0.
Waldorf made a second half push, but the Bulldogs withstood it behind stars Carter Kent and Justin Wiersema, who both reached the 20-point mark. Concordia won, 89-72, while hosting the Cattle Classic on Friday (Nov. 5).
The Bulldogs will attempt to build upon a 2-0 start to the 2021-22 season as they host Waldorf and Benedictine for the 22nd annual Cattle Classic (Nov. 5-6). The event features a total of eight basketball games.
Five Bulldogs again reached double figures as they routed Presentation, 96-72, at the Hastings Classic on Saturday (Oct. 30). Concordia (2-0) jumped out to a 14-0 lead and shot 50 percent from the floor on the day.
While opening the 2021-22 season, the Bulldogs ramped up their defensive pressure in the second half and ran away from Friends, 87-57, on Friday (Oct. 29). Five Concordia players reached double figures in scoring.
The wait for Concordia Men’s Basketball is just about over. The 2021-22 season will tip off this weekend at the Hastings College C3 Tip-Off Classic, where the Bulldogs will play Friends and Presentation.
