The 2026 Bulldogs are tasked with following up arguably the greatest season in program history. Concordia hopes to raise the standard once again thanks to a talented and experienced squad.

Concordia University, Nebraska Women’s Tennis released its Spring schedule on Thursday (Jan. 8). The massive slate includes 20 duals with 13 coming in the non-conference variety.

CUNE Women’s Tennis is receiving votes in the NAIA coaches’ preseason poll released on Wednesday. After qualifying for the national tournament for the first time in the 2024-25 season, the Bulldogs received 11 points in the opening list.

The Bulldogs were one game away from perfection in singles play, defeating in-state Nebraska Wesleyan University, 6-1, on Tuesday. Mariana Molano and Alana Lopez Pagan went unbeaten in both singles and doubles.

Hugo Fuentes and Nick Velders were a tiebreak win away from the championship at the ITA NAIA Central-West Regional Championships on Sunday (Sept. 28). CYBE Tennis had 10 players invited.

Concordia competed in the GPAC Individual Tennis Tournament over the weekend. The Bulldogs were at Woods Tennis Center as Gabrielle Heiser led the Seward roster in the fall playoff.

The International Tennis Association (ITA) announced on Thursday eight NAIA Scholar-Athletes from Concordia University, Nebraska women’s tennis. CUNE was also one of 24 squads to make the ITA all-academic teams list.

For their commitment to service, the Concordia Tennis programs were honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association with 2025 NAIA regional community service awards.

A native of Denver, Colo., Annie Horn has brought a big city game to Concordia. The standout senior is coming off a junior season that saw her win 15 singles matches and go undefeated against GPAC opponents.
The 2016 Bulldogs were made up of almost exclusively freshmen and sophomores. A year later, Coach Joel Reckewey has a much more experienced roster led by the likes of Alison Ebel, Annie Horn and Kayla Smock.
Despite the young athletes on the Concordia women’s tennis team, the Bulldogs proved to be a GPAC contender in the 2016 season. The team, made up of freshmen and sophomores, went 5-3 in the conference this year.
