For her starring performance in last week's five-set win at No. 14 Northwestern, Gabi Nordaker has been named the GPAC Attacker of the Week. This marks the second career GPAC weekly honor for Nordaker.
The 2021 regular season will come to a close on Tuesday as the Bulldogs host Hastings inside Friedrich Arena. Concordia is coming off back-to-back five-set wins over top 15 nationally ranked opponents.
While playing another five-setter, the Bulldogs outlasted No. 14 Northwestern behind 21 kills from Camryn Opfer on Saturday (Oct. 30). Concordia (13-10, 8-7 GPAC) won in Orange City, Iowa, for the first time since 2015.
Saturday's matchup with No. 14 Northwestern will come with major GPAC and national tournament implications attached to it. The Bulldogs hope to build upon last week's come-from-behind win over No. 15 Dakota Wesleyan.
No, not this time. Tired of coming up short in five-setters, the Bulldogs rallied to topple No. 15 Dakota Wesleyan in five on Saturday (Oct. 23). Camryn Opfer sparked Concordia with 25 kills, 20 digs and five blocks.
Concordia pushed Jamestown in all three sets, but the blocking of the top-ranked Jimmies was too much to overcome on Friday (Oct. 22). Camryn Opfer topped the Bulldogs (11-10, 6-7 GPAC) with 11 kills.
Concordia will be challenged significantly this weekend as it welcomes No. 1 Jamestown and No. 15 Dakota Wesleyan to Friedrich Arena. The Bulldogs will hold their pink match on Saturday.
The Bulldogs got the boost they needed this weekend while completing a 2-0 weekend in Sioux City. Concordia defeated Morningside in straight sets on Saturday (Oct. 16) behind a match high 13 kills from Erica Heinzerling.
Setter Tara Callahan piled up 42 assists while quarterbacking an attack that hit .352 while taking care of Briar Cliff in straight sets on Friday (Oct. 15). The Bulldogs won the first of two matches in Sioux City on the weekend.
The Bulldogs hope to get back into the win column this weekend as they head to Sioux City, Iowa, for matchups with Briar Cliff and Morningside. Concordia is currently in ninth place in the GPAC standings.
