Concordia will take 34 qualifiers to the 2022 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships. That list includes 19 Bulldogs with past All-America performances, such as national champions Rachel Battershell and Josie Puelz.
In conjunction with the NAIA's release of official national qualifiers, Concordia Track & Field has announced its national qualifying team of 34. The 2022 NAIA indoor national meet will take place in Brookings, S.D., March 3-5.
On the same day he was honored as the GPAC Coach of the Year, Matt Beisel has been selected by the USTFCCCA as the NAIA Midwest Region Women's Coach of the Year. Beisel led the Concordia women to a 2022 GPAC indoor title.
Forty-six athletes from Concordia Track & Field earned 2022 indoor all-conference honors in one or more events. In addition, Matt Beisel was recognized as the GPAC Women's Coach of the Year and Josie Puelz earned Women's Field Performance of the Meet.
The streak continues for Concordia women's track, which has now won each of the past six GPAC championship meets. Meanwhile, the Bulldog men placed fourth at the 2022 GPAC indoor meet. Concordia combined for six GPAC event titles.
In the highlight of the first day of the GPAC Championships, Amy Richert broke the school record in the pentathlon. Richert and two Bulldog teammates earned all-conference place finishes in the event, piling up 12 points.
After six weekends of regular season action, members of the Concordia Track & Field program are gearing up for the 2022 GPAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. The women's program has won five-straight GPAC titles.
In perhaps the best across-the-board meet of the 2022 indoor season, Bulldog athletes combined for nine event titles and four fresh automatic national qualifying marks as the program hosted the annual Concordia Indoor Invite.
A personal best performance in the pole vault paved the way for Erin Mapson to be named the GPAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week. Mapson moved up to No. 3 on the program's all-time indoor women's pole vault list.
The final home meet of the 2022 indoor season will run off on Saturday as the Bulldogs host the annual Concordia Invite. The meet will feature athletes from 13 different colleges and universities.
