The decorated Nick Velders added another honor on June 3 as he was tabbed an NAIA First Team Academic All-American by College Sports Communicators. Velders went 19-0 in singles matches this past season.

Nick Velders continues to cement his legacy as one of the best athletes in Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Tennis history by adding his second NAIA All-American award in two years.

An NAIA All-American and 2025 GPAC Player of the Year, senior Nick Velders has been honored as an Academic All-District honoree for the second year in a row.

Six Bulldogs make the final cut for the 2025-26 GPAC All-Conference honors on Thursday (April 30). Honorees in both doubles and singles this season were Seniors Hugo Fuentes Gomez, Nick Velders, Daniel Caballeros and Leo Lopez.

A conference title bid fell short for Concordia University, Nebraska on Saturday (April 25) as it dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 14 Morningside in the GPAC Men’s Tennis Championship at Genesis Westroads.

Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Tennis will be in the GPAC tournament championship after throttling No. 3 seed Doane, 4-0, in the conference semifinal on Friday (April 24) in the Koch Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs earned the No. 2 seed and a quarterfinal bye with a 4-1 GPAC record in the regular season. Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Tennis will face the winner of third-seeded Doane and sixth-seeded Mount Marty on Friday.

The 2026 CUNE Men’s Tennis team claimed the single-season win record (16) and shut out Doane (7-0) on Thursday (April 16) night. Santiago Abadia clinched the fourth point and Nick Velders completed an undefeated 18-0 regular season
