A seven-game series win streak over rival Doane fell by the wayside on Tuesday (March 28) in Crete, Neb., where the Bulldogs dropped decisions by scores of 6-2 and 7-5. Concordia stranded the bases loaded to end the second game.

Bragging rights within the state will be on the line this week as Concordia Softball looks forward to taking on Doane and Hastings. The Bulldogs (12-13, 1-1 GPAC) are coming off a doubleheader split with Morningside to open league play.

Runs were hard to come by on Saturday (March 25) as Concordia and Morningside played two tight low-scoring affairs. The Bulldogs rallied to win game one, 2-1, before falling by a 3-1 score in game two.

In its first home action of 2023, Concordia Softball was blanked by visiting Nebraska Wesleyan in losses by scores of 4-0 and 8-0. The Bulldogs had been idle since wrapping up the Tucson Invite on March 10.

After an extended idle stretch that followed the Tucson Invite, the Bulldogs are eager to get out on the home diamond. Home doubleheaders are coming up this week versus Nebraska Wesleyan and Morningside.

As the schedule lays out, the Bulldogs will be off until play at Mount Mercy on Sunday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Coach Brock Culler's squad just finished a stretch of playing 13 games in eight days. Concordia stands at 11-10 overall.

There may have been some tired legs, but the Bulldogs fought through it and won twice on their final day at the Tucson Invite. Concordia rode the pitching arm of Megan Eurich and got a walk-off hit from Aubrey Bruning on Friday (March 10).

It was a marathon Thursday (March 9) in Tucson as the Bulldogs played three times. The highlight of the day was a walk-off, two-run double from Caitlyn McGarvie. Concordia wound up 1-2 with a win over St. Francis (Ill.).

Two very different games played out on Wednesday (March 8) as the Concordia Softball team split two games at the Tucson Invite. The Bulldogs struck for 18 hits in a 13-5 win over Dickinson State before falling by a 4-0 count to Siena Heights.

Caitlyn McGarvie rapped out five hits while leading Concordia to a win over RPI as part of a 1-1 first day at the Tucson Invitational. An 11-run inning highlighted the day for the Bulldogs, who will play nine games at the invite.
