Concordia University, Nebraska Softball is set to make a Saturday (March 7) trip to the Friends University (Kan.) Invite. The Bulldogs are set to square off against Bethany College (Kan.) and York.

The Bulldogs' bats continually connected for 24 hits in the two outings of the Top Gun Invite on Saturday. Concordia University, Nebraska routed Mount Mercy (Iowa), 7-2, and Clarke, 6-1.

The Dawgs and Coyotes tussled in an even split doubleheader as each dugout won 4-3 at the Salina South High School Softball Field on Tuesday (Feb. 24). Concordia University, Nebraska outlasted Kansas Wesleyan in game one.

The Bulldogs will play six games in the next seven days and will travel on Tuesday for a replacement doubleheader added with Kansas Wesleyan University. CUNE Softball will travel to the Top Gun Invite over the weekend.

CUNE Softball competed against Benedictine College on Sunday (Feb. 15) but lost in both games (4-0, 7-3). The Bulldogs left 14 runners on base in the two contests, but couldn’t find enough bat-to-ball clutch connections.

The Bulldogs pulled two nailbiters out against the University of Saint Mary (Kan.) on Saturday (Feb. 14). CUNE Softball defeated the Spires in walk-off fashion in game one, 4-3, and held on to a sliver of a lead in game two, 8-7.

Concordia University, Nebraska Softball will go to Kansas for its next two doubleheaders this weekend. The Dawgs kicked off their season going south to Mesquite, Texas.

CUNE Softball showed grit on the final day at the Southern Collegiate Sports NAIA Invitational but fell in both games to No. 2 Oklahoma City University, 9-0 (5 inn.), and the University of British Columbia, 5-1.

Kenna Heath has gone from Bluejay to Cougar to Bulldog. Says Kenna, "God really showed me that I needed to do something different and I am working on trusting Him and His plan for me." Kenna joined the softball team at semester.

In the community and on the diamond, the 2017-18 Concordia softball team is working to uphold a winning culture. The results so far this fall have been promising for a youthful squad led by captain Leah Kalkwarf.
The 2017 Concordia softball team provided plenty of memorable moments during a 34-win campaign. It was a solid send off for a senior class headlined by first team all-conference pitcher Michaela Woodward.
