Lund emerges in domination of Avila

Freshman Anna Lund made a big impact after having her number called on Saturday. Thanks in part to her big performance, Concordia came away with a straight sets win over Avila University on Saturday (Aug. 26).

  • Though the Bulldogs came up empty in the win column, there were plenty of flashes of brilliance on day one of the Viking Invitational. In particular, sophomore Emmie Noyd dominated in the middle while totaling 24 kills.

  • Alex La Plant starred and many others contributed as the Concordia volleyball team earned its first victory of the 2017 season. The Bulldogs took care of visiting Bethany, 25-11, 25-19, 25-19.

  • Four new opportunities await Concordia volleyball this week. The Bulldogs will host Bethany College on Wednesday while in pursuit of their first victory of the 2017 season.

  • For the first time in five seasons, the Concordia volleyball program failed to claim victory in its season opener. Visiting Baker University blitzed the Bulldogs, 25-16, 25-16, 25-14.

  • This one’s for real. Nine days after reporting back to campus for preseason camp, the Concordia University volleyball team will serve up the first Bulldog athletic contest of the 2017-18 academic year.

  • Hoping for a climb back up the league standings, Concordia volleyball has been picked by GPAC coaches to finish seventh in the conference. The Bulldogs went 6-10 in GPAC action in 2016.

  • The Concordia volleyball program has collected the AVCA Team Academic Award once again. The Bulldogs have received the honor every year during head coach Scott Mattera's tenure.

  • Eleven recent high school graduates are set to join the Concordia University volleyball program this fall. Seven of the new Bulldogs earned some form of all-state recognition within the state of Nebraska.
